The logical rebuttal to this BS is why would you settle for 1080p when you can have higher resolutions elsewhere? Oh, that's right, "justification" of some sort. LOL. |
I can game at 92" at 1080p, have been since 2007. However a 92" 4K TV or 4K projector are still firmly out of my price range. So nope, can't have higher resolutions yet at that image size. Kinda pointless to double the resolution while settling for a smaller image size :/
1080p has been the standard for quite a while now, 4K is just starting and the format for HDR hasn't even been decided yet. Dolby Vision and HDR 10 are still competing to become the standard. Are there even any PC games yet that output HDR? Most games have been using FP16 for years internally, yet scale it down to 8 bit for output.
