The logical rebuttal to this BS is why would you settle for 1080p when you can have higher resolutions elsewhere? Oh, that's right, "justification" of some sort. LOL. |
And I'm all for utilizing higher resolutions when the resources and talent are avaliable to do so. 4k televisions are being used as PC monitors for PC gaming. But I believe the content here are in regards to console gaming according tothe text of the OP. But how many times we're heard from diehard Xbox supporters who excuses the 720p of an Xbox One version of a game when the PS4 version outputs 1080p? Now, that's not to say that 720p is bad by any means because I stated in my original post that I'd still game with a 480i resolution because it is about the games. But if technology wasn't pushed, we'd not have 720p much less 1080p. Now it you're a diehard Nintendo fan, buying a Nintendo console just for the Nintendo franchise titles that alone is more than worth buying a Nintendo console. And if you'd prefer to buy a mulit-platform title those resolution is 720p for thatsame console while the other versions are of higher resolution, that's fine, too. I can safely assume that the game will look very nice in 720p. It's "acceptable." But if developers have the talent and resources to push a game out in 1080p while the consumers have the resources to financially back those efforts, we allwin, and we all benefit. If some want to miss out on this by settling and purposely not looking forward, their loss.
