AMD basically confirms the PS4K and/or an Xbox One revision

Apple flip flops between AMD and Nvidia for their discreet GPU models. It would be a bit maddenlng if it weren't for the fact that driver support is not an issue as they function the same under OSX; it really just comes down to a price/performance prospect when it comes to OEM bids. The consumer pays the same regardless, so it really only effects Apple's bottom line per unit. 

What's interesting is that discrete GPUs are only an option with premium priced models; I wouldn't be surprised if these comprised less than half of the hardware units sold. 

Nintendo was ALWAYS with AMD (known as ArtX back in the days before being acquired by ATi) since the Gamecube days so they never really switched ...

For their Mac Pro line, Apple hasn't used an Nvidia GPU in over half a decade and the same goes for the MacBook Air. None of Apple's current line up uses Nvidia and none of them feature the latest Nvidia Maxwell GPU architecture! 

Apple is willing to pay for performance as long as it makes sense. Bottom line is not all Apple cares about since even they use Intel CPUs so even they think cheaper is not always better for quality ...
