| Cryoakira said: As others said, KZ2, event if it meet visual expectation, has to yet to convince as a FPS. KZ1 was barely an average and if some think it's just about money, they clearly miss something. Talent is what's make the difference between the disappointing COD3 from Treyarch and the great COD2 from Infinity Wards. It (or the lack of it) explains why games with time and budget like Daikatana, Getaway, PDZ and many other sucks. I do hope Guerilla find someone with the talent requiered to make a good FPS, but they still have to proove that. Showing good graphics isen't engouh, just like Crytek had to to proove there was a great game behind the fabulous engine of Far Cry. |
You know, I thought Far Cry was mediocre at best. It's graphics and HDR were okay and the draw distance was pretty neat. However, I think it falls flat on it's face with it's shitty voice acting, sub-par storyline, really bad sneaking aspect, enemies who can take you out almost instantly even on easy (let's not get started on the one hit death with the rocket launcher guys from a mile away).
Yet, here we are exctied because Crysis looks amazing even though everything else is really unproven by the developers. By the standards we're going for the Killzone games, shouldn't we feel the same about Crysis? I'm excited for Crysis don't get me wrong, but I'm excited for it even though I dislike Far Cry.
