Blizzard To Remove Tracer Pose From Overwatch Due To “Sex Symbol” Complaints

I see your point.  Well taken.  But not condoning one argument or another, what if Tracer were create as a female character with sex appeal?  This is nothing new of course.  But I remember borrowing a Silver Sable (a MARVEL character) poster from MY WIFE that I was going to put up in my work office.  Of course Sable was in a skin tight outfit with hardly any flesh exposed with the exception of her face.  That was frowned upon.  But my Captain America poster was just fine in his red, white and blues, revealing every ripped muscle with his crotch exposed.  Yes, I made a lot of guys horny at work.  ;)

The thing is, Overwatch already have another character who drips sex appeal which is Widowmaker.  If all the female characters are these sexualize character then the game, story and character wise become totally one dimensional.  Also lets be balance, women in a lot of media are sexually represent way more than men.  Just about every fantasy poster has a woman in armor that looks like a bathing suit.  

Logistically, I know very little about Overwatch so I know very little about Widowmaker.  My whole point using Tracer as an example is that you have characters who were created with sex appeal in mind and some who were not.  And since I haven't heard anything controversal about Widowmaker, there shouldn't be anthing controversal about Tracer when she comes off as being sexy.  Now, we all know this, but it always disturbs me when ones personal values/convictions result in a knee-jerk reaction.

And I agree with you that women are sexualized more than men in the media, but there is nothing wrong with the poster above. NOTHING! It's just from my personal experience, people were having an issue with an image of a beautiful drawn woman in a feminine pose fully clothed with nothing sexualized implied, but had no problem with a drawn muscular man in a manly heroic stance.
