The part here that creates the controversy is that they (SE) came out and said that this is not a part of FFXV but rather something they threw together in about 2 months to give you an idea for the "feel of the game."  I personally took it as a gameplay demo and largely ignored any of the technical deficiencies, especially given the small production window they used to put this platinum demo together.

All that said, they definitely should've put forth a better showcase for the game they are releasing in 5 months.

Well... as i say. If the final game performs well and has none of the sloppyness, then i have no issue with that. But you know... actions speak louder than words. It was a mistake to release such a demo imo.

After that its only the combat system, but those are design choices. Either way i want the game to do well because it will continue the resurgence of JRPG's. And i want a freaking new Grandia!

I agree. People can say the final game will be leagues better, but until it comes out and is better we can only go off of what is shown. There was just a LOT of sloppiness in a game that looks only better than cross gen titles, and has some of the worst performance seen this gen. That's what I played and that's what I seen.

And was I the only one that was really expecting something much better from the luminous engine?... Granted the specs of the hardware are obviously holding it back, which is sad.

The DEMO (not FF XV) was below expectations in a TON of ways.
