I'd say by and large that Islamic culture, and a lot of Muslims are against the west's values. Islam is anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-democracy, anti-freedom of speech, anti-west, anti-apostasy, and not very accepting of other cultures (unlike the West). Muslims from North Africa and the Middle East are like what I just described. With Salah Abdelsalam being born in Europe, I'd say that a lot of Muslims from Europe now hold the view I just stated.

With that being said, there is a minority of Muslims who are not against Western values. Most Muslims living in America are actually pro-west and actually hold our values, but that is a very small number of Muslims in regards to whole number of adherents of Islam.

Yet so much of that is exactly what the west was like just a few hundred years ago.

Yeah, a few hundred years ago. Gues what we did in that few hundred years; eolve our society. A few hundred years is a long time in the history of human civilizations.

The Islamic world has not evolved, an probably will not, because of the the backward thinking, 11th century Sharia Law that ISIS and Saudi Arabia want to make law-of-the-land, and also because even moderate Muslim states, e.g. Turkey, still censor free speech, a sacred right in Western culture.
