ESCAPE FROM TARKOV – ALPHA WEAPON CUSTOMIZATION DEMO

Battlestate Games has released a new video for Escape from Tarkov, showcasing the game’s weapon customization. Do note that this footage is captured from the game’s alpha build. Escape from Tarkov is powered by the Unity 5 Engine and will be a story-driven MMO game. According to the team, everything happening in the game will be determined by the story of either main chain of events or by numerous side quests.

VERMINTIDE HAS SOLD HALF A MILLION COPIES, FREE UPDATE ON THE WAY

Warhammer: End Times—Vermintide was one of the happier surprises of 2015. It earned an Editor's Choice award in our review—which I most certainly did not see coming—and gamers clearly liked it, too, to the tune of more than 500,000 copies sold.

ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 13 IS COMING TO STEAM IN ENGLISH

Koei Tecmo announced today that Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 is coming to Steam on July 5. “But wait!” you say. “Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 is already on Steam!” And yes, you are correct—but that one only supports Japanese, while this, my friends, is the English version.

HEROES OF THE STORM IS GETTING TRACER, SO HERE'S SOME FOOTAGE

If you're lucky enough to have access to the Overwatch beta, or if you just like to follow video game controversies, then Tracer will be familiar. She's the dual-pistol wielding mascot for Blizzard's forthcoming hero shooter, and she packs some special skills to compliment her ability to shoot all scum that sullies her path. These include a fancy dash, which she'll bring to Heroes of the Storm later this month.

ENDLESS LEGEND'S SHIFTERS EXPANSION OUT ON THURSDAY

It seems like only two months and a bit ago that Endless Legend developer Amplitude announced a new expansion, and in a shocking twist, that expansion is out on Thursday April 7. Shifters makes winter a more involved affair, and introduces a new faction, among other stuff. It looks pretty meaty, as detailed on the Ampli-blog here.

TYPING MEETS ACTION ADVENTURE IN EPISTORY - TYPING CHRONICLES

Epistory - Typing Chronicles is a game that mixes typing (think Typing of the Dead, or Mavis Beacon) with action-adventurey roleplaying. Also, you play as a character riding on the back of a fox for some reason. It turns out this is enough to pique my interest. You're fighting insects in an origami world, in Epistory, something you achieve by typing words using your actual keyboard—goodness, there's a lot going on in this game.

STARBOUND PREPARES TO LEAVE EARLY ACCESS

After two years and change from a third in Early Access, Starbound is gearing up for its big launch. Patch 1.0 is "getting close" and incorporates a vast array of new features, some reworked returning features and the promise of Steam Workshop support for modding. However, Chucklefish is keen to stress that 1.0 is not the end—it'll be mechanically complete but the content will keep on comping.

 

'COMPLETELY LIVE ACTION' HORROR GAME THE BUNKER COMING THIS YEAR

The Bunker is a 'completely live action' horror game from Splendy Games in collaboration with Wales Interactive and Last Chance Films. It follows John (Adam Brown, Ori in The Hobbit), the last survivor in a government bunker in the aftermath of England's obliteration in nuclear war. Horror tradition dictates that all is not as it seems and there are hints at terrors in the depths of the bunker in addition to John's own unstable mind.
