Plus here in the UK you there's TV tax too. Now that's just a joke. Having to pay tax to the BBC just to watch TV. Doesn't matter if you don't watch the BBC, doesn't matter if you think the vast majority of their content is complete crap, you still have to pay for it? Nah, that's just wrong.

I can hardly pity you for that. Over here in Germany we have the same thing, called "Rundfunkgebühren" - but I think it's much more expensive over here (17,50 Euros per month, no matter how rich or poor you are) while at the same time the quality is much worse than what the BBC produces.

Just today the first german was sent to prison for being unwilling to pay for it.

Oh and then there's inheritance tax too. Pay tax on everything you earn and everything you own already, but if you want to pass it on to others after you die you have to pay tax on it again? Because the first tax wasn't enough or something? Then they die and it's taxed a third time? And so on and so on...

I actually consider high inheritance taxes to be a good thing. It's usually the rich who usually try to convince the public that inheritance tax is bad - because it's obviously them who suffer from high inheritance taxes, while the poor would actually profit from it.

Inheritance is one of the major reasons why the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor, the whole concept is socially unjust.
