I agree. The only problem is that it's perfectly legal when corporations do it, despite the fact that tax evasion by big corporations is a much bigger problem.
So instead of fighting the major problem, tax evasion by faceless corporations, we'll now be pointing fingers at a few selected VIPs.
And it really seems like western media are already trying to use this for propaganda reasons:
For example, many media articles discussing the Panama leaks are now mentioning Putin - but apparently his name is not even on the lists, just someone Putin knows.
On the other hand, Ukraine's Poroshenko apparently really IS on the lists himself - but most media articles over here don't even mention his name.
