It's an idealistic view that unfortunately cannot work in the real world. Even ignoring the fact that a great many of these refugees are actually economic migrants, not genuine refugees, European countries just cannot accept the vast number of people thay are being flooded with. There are huge problems arising from the conflicting cultures and values, and massive strains put upon public services. Unemployment is already in the millions in the Eurozone and there are huge shortages of housing. Where are these millions of people going to live and work?

there are 500+ million people living in the EU, you are telling me increasing the population by at most 1% in the face of the Syrian crisis (and hopefully a lot can return once the situation stabilizes) would end in civil wars?
