Gamefly just sent me the first Killzone the other day and I'm trying to make my way through it.
The most interesting thing about it are the weapons and first person animations. The way the guns are brought out and are reloaded look pretty bad ass and nearly all of the guns I've used so far sound very macho (except for the shotgun, which is disappointing considering the damage it does).
Anyway, Killzone 2 looks like it's really been improving on the biggest downfall that I think the first one faces, the fact that despite this being a HUGE war, there is hardly anything going on around you, save for some ambient gunfire sounds in the distance. There may be wave after wave of enemies to shoot, but it's either just you or a few other people to actually confront them and every engagement lacks any feeling of what's actually going on in the story.
Lastly, I hope they improve on the dialog as well because not a lot of the talking in the first one really felt serious and I was quickly tired of the same lines spewed out by the people during EVERY engagement.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Killzone 2 ends up.
