Ummm...I'm in Romania. My debit card is Romanian. I have a UK account. Been using them together just fine for a few years now. Had some trouble with the card from another bank - which I'm still unable to use with my UK account -.
My GF's debit card won't allow me to make payments on PSN, but has no trouble with PayPal or Amazon.
Sooo...you may want to check on that.
Also, I believe you could simply use PayPal to circumvent all these problems. Never tried myself, but I remember the option being there.
