No. Apparently you can buy in-game coins, though.
The whole thing is one big advertisement for Nintendo, and all of the "missions" are essentially free PR labor. I can almost guarantee that the data being collected by the app is being sold to marketing firms, etc. Let's just hope that it's all anonymous.
There's a reason that Nintendo isn't doing surveys anymore. They're in the Facebook business now. Miitomo is their market survey machine.
