Again Xbox as a platform was the 2nd go at making the "Media Center PC" be the main box for your living Room, now when your talking streaming for the Living Room SmartTV and Mobile are the Main choice for streaming entertainment in the living room..not a media center PC.

I doubt very much the Media Center PC will or is ever going to replace the console before the streaming box's or SmartTV does it 1st.

Please explain why people wouldn't want a PC under their TV.

Also the places that only have dial-up and satellite have other problems on their head then gaming.

And the Xbox project was failed. Bill Gates wanted to bring the full Windows 95/98 exprience to the living room. But for whatever reason, the Original Xbox couldn't run it.

Remember microsoft Bob? Before Microsoft even built the Xbox Bill and all, already envisioned a PC in every home At every desk..bill further envisioned not just every desk , but powering your work & play entertainment.

The problem is Microsoft did something good on one hand , but also bad on another by taking ownership of "PC to correlate with Windows OS"

That also in the eyes of the Consumer seen as Work related Every day day in day out ..as Microsoft's share of the PC market became Dominate, many consumers may have wanted something different!
