Speaking from a purely personal standpoint, the TV show spots really turn me off. I can't help but think that was just a bad idea from the start. I don't watch that kind of series outside of gaming and I don't want one inside my game, especially when it sounds like they didn't give it the time it needed to make it worthwhile.
The story and gunplay sound standard, if well-implemented, so it's really going to be up to how much fun the time powers are to play around with.
