Mostly, mostly no. I have literally never "boosted" for a trophy. I DO check guides beforehand to avoid dreaded missable trophies, and I will use guides for 'cleanup", which is to say, after 3 playthroughs of, say, Uncharted, I'm still missing a few treasures, I will use a guide to get the last few.
