Mobile games are not guaranted money, neither safe investiment, You need to make Dozens of Mobile Games before any of your games succeed, they are cheaper to make, but Console games have a Faster Return ($$$$$$), and those games have Fanbase, is a 100% guaranteed money, if the Titles of your franchise get recognition, it will sell more the Next time, the problem is that Square Enix, and Konami, have Un-realistic expectations, that their games need to sell like Call of Duty, as someone said before, the more than 3 Millions of Sales on the month of launch of Metal Gear Solid V, and the 6 Millions of sales of Tomb Raider's Reboot, were not enought to hit the Expectations of neither Square, or Konami. |
Im not entirely sure how that relates to what i said. The person i quoted said that Nintendo is going it right by keeping console/handheld gsmes the main focus while releasing a few mobile titles as well.
What i said was that most major Japanese 3rd parties (western as well) still focus on dedicated gaming devices while offering mobile titles as well.
