I am not a huge 3rd Person Shooter fan, but there have been some I liked.

Fast paced- The Division, honestly its the 1st TPS that feels as intuitive to me as playing a FPS.

Slower paced- Gonna have to with TLOU even though I don't really consider it a TPS at all. Its a 3rd Person Adventure game. But it does have alot of shooting from the 3rd person so I guess it counts.

Another older game that really advanced TPS was Freedom Fighters for the GC and PS2 (probably was on Xbox also, I cant remember). Really good game for its time. It from like 02/03 Pre-RE4.

Edit- So I went back and read the post in this game and it seems some classify any game in the 3rd person that has shooting elements in it a TPS.... Call a game like Infamous a TPS would be like calling Skyrim an FPS. I also saw some platformers rolled into this. Is Super Mario Sunshine a TPS now? I mean he shoots his water cannon alot.

Here is a very basic definition.

"Third-person shooter is a subgenre of 3D shooter games in which the player character is visible on-screen, and the gameplay consists primarily of shooting."

So for instance, I have played MGS1, 2, and 5. 1 and 2 are NOT TPS, while MGS5 probably is. The earlier titles were Action-Stealth games. RE is another example. 1, 2, and 3 were straight up survival horror, in fact the games were not even in what we consider a 3rd person(techically yes) the camera was isometic. With RE4 I can see how it would be classified as such(I still consider it Survivial Horror), by 6 RE became a straight up TPS.

I am not trying to nitpick but some of the games listed are top of their class for sure, in another genre. That is why I felt iffy about putting TLOU up there. Most of the combat is shooting, but I really dont see it as a "shooter".
