The problem is not everyone rates things the same. Some people consider it a bell curve and basically 80% of the games should be 4-6. Voting like that, a 7 is a fairly favorable grade and there is no shame dropping below 8.5. Other people, consider 7 as a C- or poor grade. The site has no guidelines as to what a 1 means, what a 3 means, what a 5 means, etc... |
I completely agree, plus, a review is simply your opinion, and so someone else coud love it while you hate it, like it hated oblivion. That's why I rent games before buying them if I'm even the slightest bit uncertain

They should do both. Have a user score and the scores from gamerankings.
