This launch is aimed squarely at the current install but once PSVR is well known PSVR will help sell PS4s. Sony will not want to take away that 'potential' by putting it on PC straight away. It may come to the PC but a lot further down the line. 

Tbh, I don't think it actually would benefit Sony.  I think opening it up to the PC Platform also opens Sony up to small-time indie ops, that may create something great (which Sony can then invest in/hire the individual/team).  It also opens the tech to researchers/scientists/insert occupation none of us can predict.  It ends up moving more units, than PS4 exclusivity.

I doubt Sony is making any money on the PSVR when you look at the price and what it comes with in the box.

They are obviously making money on the games and PS+ subscriptions and maybe the accesoires like the camera and PSMove
