Keeping that in mind "QB tries to push TPS in a way that no other game did since Gears 1" can't be take literally.
To assume no game has "pushed third person shooters" since a game that is now 10 years old - is strange at best, and tends to look like hyperbole.

Name games that innovated Third Person Shooter mechanics since Gears 1. I think pretty much everyone went for "cover shooter" mechanic, no?
