This always happens when a market changes... The home audio core demographic failed to see the appeal of the Walkman, and figured that it would quickly be abandoned or would follow the same sales models as home audio solutions did (it didn't on either count). The movie core demographic thought that Star Wars would be a one-time thing and that film-making would return to how it was before. And now the gaming core demographic believes that the Wii business model will just pass on and be replaced by the previous one. Past examples keep showing this sort of idea to be wrong, but most don't seem to spot the trend...
