I'd buy the new iteration if it had stronger innards. I also wouldn't get upset like the rest of you... it's no different than me buying a S6 rather than waiting a year for the S7 (except 3-4 year gaps), and my gen 1 ps4 can still play the same games at a slightly weaker state.
Hell, I'd keep my gen 1 just to keep it in a room with my 1080p plasma.
