I disagree. I think you've got to explain it a bit more to get them more excited. I don't see colorful adds with catchy music moving a system to the casual crowd.

This is a game people aren't goign to know anything about. Without any explination it will just look like another platformer. Even while showing editor events I don't think it will come across what is going on. It might just look like a "Lemmings" type game.

Unless you already know a lot about LBP i can't see an add campaign like that working.

That's exactly the kind of ad that got people's jaws dropping for the game in the first place. Remember the skateboard level? A few seconds of watching the sackboys interacting with the world and each other and you understand intuitively what the game is about.

If I were running the LBP ad campaign, I'd just show 30 seconds of footage from that original English Garden level, plus the music, with no cuts. Maybe bring in the create/share aspects in later ads, but it's the visual style and the cooperative platforming that's going to draw in the mainstream audience.

What I hope they don't do is something like that Spike VG awards trailer. It tried to cram so much in with so many quick cuts that the whole thing just looked like a mess of scrolling through menus and waving at the screen. That's exactly the kind of thing they need to avoid.
