Only way I see them spending more time in development then they alraedy do is if they decided to go for things that can run on 4.5 and not on 4 (like SVOGI), which would call for additional time. But ultimately, I don't see much sense in releasing 4.5 at the moment, I don't think 14/16nm is cheap enough for them to make required upgrade - maybe in the future if fabs manage to go back to roadmaps of the past, when they actually managed to stick to Moore's law, half-cycle consoles will make sense. |
I'm talking 1st party studios for the console makers. 3rd party devs who do multi-plat don't care about squeezing everything they can out of console hardware, they care about parity.
