it`s just because PS3 hasn`t got FFXIII in Japan and other BIG games.
Look at psOne sales.

4 weeks and MGS4 release,
then will come some other japanese games: DBZ, Naruto, SC4, Tekken6, Eternal Sonata, WKS(maybe), Tears of teara, RE5(maybe), Last Remnant, Siren + some west titles.
With that PS3 will reach around 4 mln. by the end of 2008 in Japan.
And after that it will get FFXIII and sales will sky rocket. =)
About USA, well i expected also some boost in ps3 sales during GTA4 week, so, who knows, how popular wii fit will be.. but probably will have good legs. =)

PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.
PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
