DRAFT BANS ARE COMING TO HEROES OF THE STORM

Blizzard has announced some big changes coming to Heroes of the Storm in the next patch. Draft lobbies are being given an “epic visual overhaul” in the next patch, including new background art, animated hero models and portraits, and updated selection animations, and hero bans in ranked play and custom games are finally on the way.

THE DESCENDANT IS A SCI-FI ADVENTURE SET AFTER THE END OF THE WORLD

The Descendant does not start off on a happy note: After climate change wrecks the planet, humanity nukes itself into a state of near-extinction. A few thousand “descendants of humanity” are selected for cryogenic suspension in underground bunkers called Arks, where it's hoped they'll survive the devastation and eventually emerge, to begin the process of rebuilding civilization. And centuries later, they do. All except the people in Ark-01.

TELLTALE'S THE WALKING DEAD SEASON THREE WILL DEBUT THIS YEAR

Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner said in a recent interview with Mashable that the third season of its Walking Dead adventure series will get underway sometime this year. The studio has a “really cool and unexpected” plan for dealing with all the possible endings to TWD season two, he added: “From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we've ever shown anybody before.”

 

FALLOUT 4 SURVIVAL MODE WILL ENTER BETA NEXT WEEK

Fallout 4's Boston wasteland isn't pleasant. It's full of malevolent, mutated wildlife, warring factions and lung-torching radiation. Still, that's not a huge problem if you can save your progress every minute or so, as the more careful among us often do. That's why Bethesda is releasing a Survival mode, which removes the ability to save – among other things – and ramps up the difficulty. That's coming next week, according to Bethesda.

THIS WAR OF MINE: THE LITTLE ONES IS COMING TO PC

This War of Mine is a game about surviving the horrors of war, not as a thick-necked soldier with an array of guns and a can-do attitude, but rather as a civilian: hungry, sick, injured, alone, and above all else, desperate. It's obviously not the happiest simulation ever, but as we noted in our review, that's the point. And in spite of the grim subject matter, it was successful enough to earn an expansion, The Little Ones, which was released in January as part of an expanded, console-exclusive edition. Today, however, developer 11 Bit Studios announced that a PC version is on the way.
