So the question is does a final resolution figure matter anymore?
Digital Foundry said themselves they didn't know what the output resolution was. They couldn't pin it down. What they could pin down was the ambient ocollusion and shadows which we already knew were 720p native.
Now we know why Digital Foundry couldn't tell.
At the end of the day the image is clear with a purposeful film grain ( imo to tie it in better with the TV series look ). They also throw as many things at the hardware they possibly can with effects and particles. After all the game engine completely freezes time at points in the game where you can see every spark, concrete piece, explosion in suspended animation.
Ive seen this first hand and it pushes the Xbox one further than anything before it.
