The OP graphic charts look like they were made by the same source which is odd unless someone produced them as a fact checker aid.

Everyone has their own expectations when a new console comes out; if you're in the everything must be exactly as advertised or I smell a class action lawsuit boat, you're probably better off not buying a console until it has all the features and more importantly, the titles you claim to be buying it for.

I bought three consoles over the current generation completely blind (pre-order for day 1 based on prerelease info) and the PS4 is the only one I still use. I'd say I got my use out of it after two years, so any further value I get out of it until I replace it makes it among the best ways I could have spent $400 on entertainment.

Could it have been better? When is the answer to that question ever no?
