That's not the point I'm making. I'm talking about the opportunity Sony passed on to get people to buy the PS Camera or MOVE controllers before VR launched. More people would then have been set up for the Headset. Sports Champion would have been a good start. They definitely passed this opportunity over and my question is why?

Then the only two reasons I could possibly fathom are

A) to make their strategy better hidden from everyone else

or

B) they've been messing with VR for a long while but haven't been sure when to push the tech. The momentum behind Oculus Rift Dev kit caught them off guard and so what we're seeing from them now is somewhat reactionary.
