The Biggest oppening for a Persona game, was a little more than 200 Thousands first week on Japan, this is a Strong franchise there, look at how many games struggle to make it on Germany, and UK, the other biggest markets for gaming, Comparing this with a New brand release, Persona 5 (that will be bigger than Persona 4), is on the Same size for Japan, than Far Cry 4, for Germany, and UK, with all the Versions of Far Cry 4(PC, PS3, XBOX 360, PS4, Xbox One) on UK, it sold nearly 200 Thousands, same for Germany, and the biggest oppening for the series of Persona, was 200K. So you want to say if Something like Far Cry 4, launch exclusive for Germany, or UK, it would not sell Hardware ?, wtf. People purchase consoles because of the games, and because PS4, is getting a lot of japanese games this year, the sales had a YOY Growth, i don't know who said that PS4, will only sell 3-4 Millions Life-time on Japan, with Final Fantasy 15, Dragon Quest 11, and Persona 5, it mighty break 4 Millions before the end of the year on Japan. |
None of that will sell enough hardware to get PS4 to sell 10.4m lifetime. It doesn't matter how strong the franchises are. MK8 is a much stronger franchise than all of those, and it didn't help the Wii U. P5 is also out on PS3 meaning people don't have to upgrade, DQ11 will be out on the vastly more popular 3DS over there, and FF15 won't help enough to get it over 10m.
