$55 million in economic injuries + $60 milliion for emotional distress = a massive amount in damages owed by Gawker
Hopefully, this triggers the end of that disgusting company, and with a bit of luck, it'll take Kotaku and the other garbage subsidiaries of Gawker Media with it.
UPDATE: Jury has awarded an additional $25 Million in Punitive Damages, for a total of $140 Million. Maximum amount a bond can be is $50 million, we'll see if they're forced to put that up (in order to appeal they have to fulfill the bond, but the judge can reduce the award/bond amt).
EDIT: Shouldn't 'really' be in gaming, though this verdict will have direct rammifications on Kotaku. I wonder if Stephen Totilo now understands why journalistic ethics are important (laugh).
