I'm not saying whether Oculus or PsVR will sell well or not. But we don't know how many of each have been promised to retailers. Remember the original Kinect sold out its first 4 shipments before launch. Also recently Surfacebook sold out for over a month worth of preorders before launch.
Oculus and PSVR selling out preorders was expected. People with high disposable income will just buy regardless. Its the other 95% of the population that matters where product success is concerned.
