ts clear that the xperia brand has not moved all that well, but now would be the best change to a new direction, a playstation gamer smartphone would or i should could do such..by using a fork of android, it would still allow apk's from standard Android Os apps like Amazon already does with Fire devices. if xperia is not selling in great number's but @ profit, which they are rebranding the smartphone part of their company to that of making a gamer centric smartphone to provide to the market could that would not really be the main goal, its about putting a platform that goes everywhere for support of playstation software & services..with a targeted market a playstation smartphone store would get rid of so much shovelware that it would allow more playstation defined smartphone games and appscut out a niche for gamer's ..many say what about growth past the playstation crowd..thats what samsung and other companies are already well entrenched..but if Sony makes a dedicated playstation smartphone cdma and gsm thus any carrier sell it unlocked from the start like google does with nexus branded smartphones..Sony could carve out a niche as the best gameing smartphone out there.
with remote play and share play , the playstation phone would have those 1st party experiences like people crave, but have fast pick up and play, and developer's tools and Api standards that go inline with other such standard android OS based handset's but with playstation magic of 1st party, making games for it.
instead of having to refresh the hardware fast, make it the game console of smartphones..because as it already is there is untapped power still in current smartphones that are not being used.
