This is what happens when you've lost a gen 3 times in a row and lost your original userbase to someone who once used to work under you. MS just wants to take back the PC space with brute force, with the strong arming of a single OS, single API and single store with no chance of competition being allowed to thrive unless they say so and under just one OS. That is a future I definitely don't want at all and I;m glad that Steam and others exist to be able to push MS back in line.
Even if they slightly tweaked the crap they've put in place, I'm still not buying it because I don't like 10 and I'm perfectly happy with buying my games from GoG, Steam, Battle.net and Origin (barely). MS should try co-operating with the PC space for once instead of thinking they can completely control it, the sooner they fully co-operate and give their games out the better.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
