Yeah, no. Fuck that. GFWL was a disaster on every level and showed perfectly why Microsoft should never be trusted to have the interests of the PC gamer at heart, or even in mind, when they create their policies and procedures. I despised GFWL with every fiber of my being.
Microsoft's goal is to take control of the PC gaming space. If they manage that, then it's completely valid, based on company history, to assume they'll leverage that monopoly in order to monetize the situation, even at the expense of consumer freedom.
That is a bloody dark path and I, for one, do not trust Microsoft to hold the flashlight.
