Most of us have made at least on thread in our time in VGC. Other's, like myself, have made dozens. Obviously then, there are some that we'll naturally be more proud of than others.

Mine have to be between:

"Ramblings on combat and difficulty in Zelda"

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=198675&page=1

In this one, I sort of go on a mechanical break down of why Zelda games used to be difficult, why they no longer are, and how Zelda can improve it's combat while keeping it modern with the new one. I think the think I like the most about it is that I didn't really go into it meaning to be academic, but it sort of evolved into this sort of forum pseudo-thesis. Neat.

"My first Shin Megami Tensei game - Tips for a beginner?"

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=199777&page=1

In this one, I was playing through SMT4 for the first time ever. It is part of a franchise one of my best friends loves, so it meant a lot to me to give it a fair shake. What I love about this thread is how it went from me just kind of asking for pointers (because the franchise is notorious for being difficult) to becoming this like community walkthrough of a bunch of veterans helping the newbies out as they struggled through this very well made game. It was responsible for one of my fondest gaming memories, and I definitely want to do it again.

Actually, my friend just got me Final Fantasy X for my birthday... And I've never... played a...

Anyway.

It's follow up, "Spoilers: Rambling thoughts on Shin Megami Tensei IV"

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=200192&page=1

In this thread, I sort or ramble on about my feeling towards SMT4. I thought it was an extremely flawed game, but I loved it. That's why I love the thread so much. It kind of gave me the space to just kind of think out loud about the things I enjoyed about it, what I hated about it, and most importantly, it allowed me to remember that it's okay for a game to have flaws. It's okay for it not to be a 10, a 9, or even an 8. SMT4, dispite its flaws, made me fall in love with the SMT franchise, and there's something special about a game that can do that when so much is against it doing so.

With an honorable mention going to "Nintendo going mobile was NOT their most important announcement."

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=200254&page=1

This thread was a response to the infamous "Nintendo goes mobile" announcement. A lot of people had all these mixed feelings about it, but I was frustrated to see that no one seemed to see or want to talk about the true genius of this annoucement. The strategy behind it and the colossal implications it had for their future. I did, so I outlined in the greatest detail that I could. The reason I like this thread so much, outside of being so spot on with 99% of the then abstract things I "predicted" there, is that it kind of made me discover how much I loved writing about this stuff. I love researching and analyzing the moves these companies make and making what I believe to be logical inferences from that research. I love reading financial reports as much as I love playing video games, and I love connecting the dots and drawing conclusions from them. I always say that Nintendo is terrible at keeping secrets. I always say that they tell you all the moves they plan to make years before they make them in investors meetings and in interviews. I always say that, contrary to popular conjecture, we know almost everything about the NX. That we know almost every major, important detail about the system, just by putting together all the one off references and sly remarks alluding to it. This was the thread to make me realize all of this, or a least, this is the thread that allowed me to outline my reaction to that realization.  I was totally wrong on the separate platform thing, though. Oops.

Also, all of those were made exactly a year ago, around the month of March. Strange. Those are some of mine. What is yours?
