It's not that surprising that there's a visual upgrade. They were originally aiming for 60 fps, and got it to around 40 fps. By dropping it to 30 fps, they had extra leeway to make it look super pretty.
Honestly, I am just a fan of how they made Nate Drake look much older. Soon enough, he will be Sully.
