Damn, I'm starting to want this game more and more. I like how Valve doesn't make a single shooter with a bunch of modes which may or may not seem tacked on, but rather one for single player only, one for team vs team play, and one for co-operative like this. The only negative about it is the loooong wait for their next game.

Also love how in the hospital clip one of the guys almost gets killed by the barnacle-like strangling thing, and a team mate just barely makes it on time. Then the second the first guy starts healing himself (an uninterruptable process as far as I can tell), another team mates walks into it, and almost dies as well since nobody is near to rescue him. Using a mic is clearly very important, so I better work on my spoken English before the game's out. =P

The microphone isn't as important as you might think (but it won't hurt at all). They have put a lot of work into their audio triggers. For instance if you're leading the pack and you put your crosshairs over a Hunter your character will actually have like 15 different ways of notifying the group with an audio cue. Similarly if point at ammo it will let your teamates know by having your character say something. From what I've seen they also made sure that this doesn't trigger for each person that sees it, just the first one (ie no annoying repeating sound clips). Also when you reload there are a bunch of calls for that too.

Aside from those auto-audio cues, there is also a quick-access audio-cue that allows you to say things like "follow me", "I heard a hunter growl" or whatever they want to put in that they think would be helpful. Clearly these player activated cues aren't nearly as good as voice chat is but it will provide an alternative for those who don't have a microphone so that they aren't a massive pain in the butt for their team.

Oh and I do think the healing can be interrupted but there is an animation involved in it. So when you click start healing your character pulls out the medpack and then kneels, and then the medkit timer starts, if you interrupt your character has to go through the standing up animation as well as drawing a weapon. All of it makes perfect sense and honestly I like the idea.

@brawl4life,

If you're willing to build it there are plenty of folks in the PC section (myself included) who would be happy to help you figure out good parts to get. I don't know if you're ready to buy just yet, but if you aren't familiar with parts prices I will say its probably more affordable than you think.
