I still can't picture anyone with a Ps3 playing Uncharted through PSNow, outside trying the system out for the first time or comparison videos with the disc-based version. I guess the mobile/blu-ray player streaming thing does make much more sense. |
my coworker just bought a ps4. she decided to buy a year of psnow. for a hundred bucks she has access to the entire library of psnow games for a year. yeah, she could have purchased some of the games on ps4 that were remastered but she would very quickly spend more than $100 and she doesn't care about owning a game because she never replays a game. she raves about the service to me.
she also bought ps+ specifically for the "free" games. if the game isn't on psnow or ps+ she doesn't play it because while she enjoys gaming she doesn't care about new releases and she doesn't care about ownership. she is looking for an affordable way to get games. she likes feeling no pressure to just not play a game she started and didn't like and thinks reviews are misleading.
there is an audience for the service it's just not you (aka a hardcore gamer).
edit: and honestly i pretty much agree with here. i don't have psnow because i really played every last gen game i want to play but this gen i pretty much exclusively play ps+ games. it's cheap and i have more than enough games to keep me happy. i have bought some games and i will buy some games (uncharted 4) but most retail games i'm passing on. i just don't care much about playing a games day-1 compared to managing my spending on gaming.
