Not sure either... the website doesn't seem too bad. I noticed the Steam ID late, I initially thought it was just the account name.
I believe these things are free because you subscribe to them, ads, email listings, i.e. your email address.

If I were nice, I'd think that they want to know our SteamID to be able to send us ads and promotions of games that better suit our tastes. But I'm not a nice person, so I don't trust them.

Btw, I used that site you listed and I get this result with Ginmir. Does it mean that you're this one?
