Games with a huge budget simply can't be single player only (exceptions are well established franchises like GTA, Zelda, etc). The developers know it already and that's why the inlcude multiplayer even when it doens't make much sense. |
Witcher and Fallout are single player only, and ye they aren't new IPs but anyway they made gazilions. Until Down was also very financially sucessfull specialy because its budget wasnt all that high and marketing was quite low wich reduced the budget even more. The entire Batman Arkhan series, smashing sucess again. There are pretty much the same proportion of games failling and succeeding whether they are MP only, MP and SP hybrids or SP only, companies prefer to put some form of MP on games tough cause they can do microtransactions and scumbag ppl out of their moneys, thats why almost all SP games have some form of very bad taked on MP on it.
