They already had plans with the Witcher 2 for console as the UI was very controller centric from the start, was annoying.

Porting is easy, making a game for tv + controller is not the same as for kb / mouse + monitor however. We get some akward middleground nowadays, tiny hard to read text on tv, uncomfortable to navigate menus on pc. (It's gonna be fun with UWP when games need to find a middleground with tablets and phones as well!)

The point was though, that extra money is *not* a bad thing.
Going console is not a bad decision either if it means more development can be spent giving us better games, it does work both ways.
