1 game sells 10 mill on console A and 10 games sell 1 mill on console B. Either way you have a lot potentially happy people and I don't think the variety on console B makes them any less happy, just because their favorite game didn't sell 10 mill.

1: Again, Sony's first party just isn't selling well enough to make me think people are buying PS4's for that amazing 1st party line up. Its not like it has Nintendo attach rates.

2: I think what really helped PS4 this gen was an abysmal launch of the X1. And I'd also argue PS3's abysmal launch helped Xbox greatly.

1: I can't speak on behalf of all but personally I always buy the console with the exclsuives that cater to me the most (given that it has strong 3rd party support).

2: Failed launches will definitely help the competition. Can't argue with that.
