Well... Phil has to deal with a difficult situation and MS doesnt like losing. So, he/them want to come up with a system where they can't lose.
I do think Xbox has a shaky future. Its either going to just become the Windows 10 games division brand or it will go the way of the steambox trying to emulate a PC. One thing seems certain, Xbox consoles has we know them might be coming to an end.
