What irks me the most is how they are wanting to turn PC into a console like eco system and environment. They want to turn Windows PC into a place where I can't mod my games, where I have to jump through a bunch of hoops and a place where other competition is heavily regulated and pretty much commanded (with DX 12, store and OS compliance). What also boggles my mind is how MS is heavily avoiding any talk of wanting to make new PC studios, because as far as things are going, they are just doing what happened originally with PC gaming from years ago where they simply cut off some games from PC and slapped them on Xbox, eventually shuffling most development into their first and second console through the years while ignoring PC and now we're seeing the reverse but at the same time it;s like MS doesn't care about both. It feels like MS has lost a battle for 3 gens and just wants to unify something it knows it can control and call it a big number at the end of the day to show off.
All I ever wanted from MS was some of the GoW and Halo games as well as bringing back Age of Empires franchise with an OS that was what I would have liked instead of the one we have now (seriously the second OS in a row I flat out don't like). MS could easily make studios for their console and PC divisions and keep both parties happy, but I guess that would cost more money and at this point they have sunk 3 gens worth of millions upon millions into their console side that didn't yield with 3 straight up easy wins.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
