I actually really think this is going to make them more competitive and profitable next generation. I dare say for most console owners (the general public), PC and console are not interchangeable, so the idea of windows devaluing the Xbox is only relevant to a small portion of prospective buyers. As long as the Xbox brings plenty of experiences that the PlayStation doesn't have then that is what's most important and this will open the door to a lot more software on Xbox Imo, which will easily compensate for the handful of millions Xbox may potentially, initially loose in hardware users (hardware purchases are not even that profitable, if at all)
