If a developer was going to port a game to PC they still have to port a game to PC. The still have to develope it. Nobody that isn't being paid off by Microsoft is going to give that away free, and even less are going to restrict there games to Windows store alone.

If porting was so easy AAA games like Gears of War wouldn't be a mess on PC. It's not that straight forward.

Porting to PC is usually a secondary effort, not a primary one and in many cases is even outsourced to another studio entirely.

Porting is allot easier today than it was just a couple of years ago, code is now written for PC-like architectures even on Console, API's, Hardware... Doesn't matter. It's never been easier, Microsoft have even released developer tools to streamline the process between all it's platforms. (Windows 10, Xbox, Windows Phone, etc'.)

The Witcher 3 for example sold 30% of all copies on PC. That's 30% more millions of dollars to go towards the next game, not something that can be ignored forever can it?

Not all games will be given away for free in the Windows 10's store of course, in the early days of Steam did you know that Valve essentially gave away copies of Half Life 2 to everyone? It helped draw in users because of free stuff.
EA did a similar thing with Origin and still does with it's "On the House" scheme.

And nor did I say that *all* games will be exclusive to the Windows 10 store, Microsoft is trying to compete remember? Developers are still free to make their own choices, but Microsoft will give them incentives to be Windows 10 exclusive.

Haha, that's turning things upside down. The Witcher 3 went to consoles to make The Wither 3 possible. It was a PC exclusive from the start, yet budget couldn't be big enough with only pc sales. They already had plans with the Witcher 2 for console as the UI was very controller centric from the start, was annoying.

Porting is easy, making a game for tv + controller is not the same as for kb / mouse + monitor however. We get some akward middleground nowadays, tiny hard to read text on tv, uncomfortable to navigate menus on pc. (It's gonna be fun with UWP when games need to find a middleground with tablets and phones as well!)
