Sports games should become platforms. Developers can easily just use patches to add new features and tweak the gameplay when necessary, especially since they generally don't improve much graphically over a generation, and then for around $30 you can get the new season's roster update. However, we probably won't see a model like that while they still sell millions of copies launching at $60.
